Drinking outside is great, but drinking at home while watching your favorite movie in your lounge clothes gives you a sense of freedom that can’t be replaced by anything else.
However, always eating potato chips and ready-made side dishes is a bit bland. On the other hand, I don’t want to have to do the troublesome washing up when I’m drunk… As a lazy drinker like myself, I would like to announce the top 3 “amazing snacks that can be made in 5 minutes” that require no fire and minimal washing that I practice every day!
3rd place: Avocado with salted kelp and sesame oil
Creamy avocado coated with Japanese flavor. It’s a versatile drinker that goes well with both beer and sake.
- Cut one avocado into bite-sized pieces.
- Place in a bowl (or directly on a serving plate), sprinkle with a pinch of salted kelp, and drizzle with sesame oil.
- Finally, sprinkle some white sesame seeds and it’s done.
The sticky texture of the avocado and the flavor of the salted kelp combine to make your chopsticks go endlessly. The trick to using a little more salted kelp is to make the sake taste better.
2nd place: Chikuwa stuffed with cream cheese, black pepper flavor
A magical recipe that transforms chikuwa, a common man’s ally, into a stylish bar-style snack.
- Fill the hole in the chikuwa with cream cheese cut into sticks.
- Cut diagonally into 1cm wide strips.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on top and add coarsely ground black pepper.
The mellowness of the cheese and the punch of black pepper make it a dangerous dish that will speed up the consumption of chilled white wine or highballs.
1st place: Raw ham and cream cheese “peach” wrap
A seasonal luxury. The combination of melon and prosciutto is famous, but it’s actually delicious when made with peaches.
- Cut the peaches into wedges (you can also use canned white peaches, but be sure to wipe them dry).
- Spread a small amount of cream cheese on top of the peach pulp.
- Wrap the whole thing loosely with torn prosciutto.
The moment you put it in your mouth, the sweet juice of the peach, the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the richness of the cheese all come together. Pair it with sparkling wine and you’re in a high-end restaurant.
How was it? All of them can be made quickly with just a knife and a cutting board. Please try it as an accompaniment to your evening drink. cheers!
